about

As I prepared for Cystic Fibrosis Awareness month (MAY), I wanted to do something more. I wanted to use my gifts to write a song that could be used as a permanent fundraiser for this disease.
I knew I could do this but initially all the lyrics that came to me were sad and depressing. Nothing I was writing seemed to fit the spirit of Ryan and Kyle. Thinking positively, I put the word out for a producer and an engineer for this unfinished work.
By the second week I realized I had to look at the song from a different point of view. Not from my thoughts of the disease and its limitations, but from the spirit that allows these children to get joy from each day. Now the lyrics flowed from my mind like a river. I knew this song had to be one of encouragement, to be uplifting and perhaps make you want to dance! Life throws us curve balls, but allowing the joy in , allows us to cope with the problems and search for a dream.

Since releasing this song last May a new member of our family was brought into the world with CF. My niece Claire. I hope that through research she will not have to grow up in a world where there is no cure.

THANKS
I wanna thank my good friend Ed Levick for getting the ball rolling, reaching out to friends to help find me someone to record this track and for all his friendship and encouragement. To Ross Billard for jumping on board, working your magic so fast and helping me to achieve the feel I was going for for this song. Thank you to Bruce Dixon for you great bass playing! And thank you to all my friends and family for your endless support and encouragement. I love you all!

lyrics

Breath It In

It’s the sound of the waves or a baby’s first cry
It’s the beat of a drum that makes us feel we’re alive
And no matter where we are when we hear that song
It brings us back to the time we could do no wrong

We give our hearts and take em back and then we do it again
It’s the way that it goes but it’s never the end
We fall down and get hurt and then we get back up We make mistakes and we learn and then we fall in love

Hey yea yea

And take a moment to breathe it in, just take a moment yea

To feel the sun on our backs and or see a mountain so tall
To give food to the needy for nothing back at all
It’s the little things we do that make us who we are
So appreciate the moments that give your life a spark

Jump in and let go
Don’t be afraid of what you don’t know
What will be will be
And it’s a beautiful life when things get messy
